Ecotourism
Tourism is a very important component of the economy. Tens of
thousands of jobs are reliant on tourism. Informal recreation
and sport are key attractions; walking is very popular. Much
of E.Sussex is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; whilst
in France there are a number of Parcs Naturels Regional, as
well as ancient forests and reserves. The Baie de Somme is one
of the most spectacular nature reserves. The impact on local
communities of all the visitors can be considerable.
