Details: Rock pool ramble over
some of North Sands' intertidal rocky shore, looking at the colourful
community of seashore life that clings to the rocks or shelters
within the rock pools of this relatively exposed shore. Aggressive
devil crabs, inquisitive blennies, colonial sea-squirts and manicuring
shrimps to mane but a few. The walk will cover less than a mile
but over some slippery and uneven rocks - so not recommended for
dogs or toddlers! Please wear appropriate clothing and wear wellies
or expect to get damp.

Details: Practical opportunities
to explore the wealth of marine life (molluscs, crustaceans, sea
squirts, birds, anemones, sponges) at low tide on the mud flats.
Waterproof footwear is recommended as is windproof clothing. Check
forecast to help you decide.
Shrimp nets and viewing tides for kids. Main activity is getting
out on to the mudflats to look at what's there with the expert guides
able to inform and excite. Suitable for all ages.
Glass bottom boat trip is available.

Activity 1 2 - 6pm Marine Lab:
Get a close up view of the marine plants and animals that live in
the rock pools or just off shore (courtesy of a local trawler) held
in the famous WCCP temporary tanks. Local divers from Invicta Sub
Aqua club will also have displays of equipment and games and quizzes
including 'What's in the Box', 'Plot the Wreck' and 'Trace a Fish'.
If the weather is good they may also collect marine life from the
shoreline. Please note: all wildlife will be put back n the sea
at the end of the day.

Costume Making Look at the marine wildlife on display in the tanks
and transform yourself into a sea creature by making a colourful
costume for the procession to the sea,

the Sea Wear your pirate costumes and join the procession across
Samphire Hoe to the beach and rock pools to release the animals
back to the sea. Here we will stop and look for the myriad of life
that lives in the rock pools.
