LowTide is a free annual inter-tidal festival.
The aim is to offer people the chance to celebrate the low tide by exploring local inter tidal sites and other aspects of the sea under expert guidance, using a combination of both art and science.
The theme for this year’s Low Tide is sustainable fishing.
We have put together an information guide entitled ‘fish and tips’ which is designed to help in choosing fish from sustainable and well-managed sources.
It also highlights the problems that face our top ten favourite fish in the UK and what is being done in solution to these problems.
It can be seen on our website under ‘fish and tips’.

Details: Enjoy activities at Birling Gap. Investigate the seashore, create beach art and take part in sea stories. Bring a picnic lunch if arriving before start. May need warm clothes and a change of shoes, incase of getting wet.

Details: A circular walk along Kingsbridge and Bowcombe Creeks and back over the hill between. Along the way investigate the sheltered rock and muddy shores, saltmarshes and esturine mudflats. Bring binoculars and a bird ID guide if you have them. The walk will cover about two and a half miles, with a few level but slippery rocks and a short but steep hill climb. Not recommended for dogs or toddlers. Bring a picnic lunch for along the way and please wear appropriate clothing including wellies or walking boots.
