Fixed point 1. This shows a series of photos taken from the same point just outside the Railway Land Local Nature Reserve, Lewes. This site was chosen because a huge underground 1.4 diameter storm overflow pipe will eventually go through here as part of a scheme in Lewes to make the sewers better in times of flood.

Point fix 1. Ceci nous montre une série de photos prises du même point juste en dehors de la Réserve Naturelle des Voix Férrées à Lewes. Ce site a été choisi pour qu’une énorme conduite souterraine de 1.4 de diamètre pour l’eau débordée des tempêtes puisse éventuellement être instalée. Ceci ferrait partie d’un projet à Lewes pour améliorer les égouts face aux innondations.

This was our first photo from fixed point A of a sycamore tree. It is very dark and there is a thumbprint in the top right corner.

Ceci est notre première photo à point fix d’un arbre cycomore. Il fait très sombre et il y a une empreinte de pouce dans le coin droit.

The sky is lighter. The sun is shining on the leaves.
There are some brown and yellow leaves.

Le ciel est plus clair. Le soleil brille sur les feuilles.
Il y a des feuilles marrons et jeunes.

4th November 2003

We can see through the tree. We can see the branches because most of the leaves have fallen.

Nous pouvons voir à travers les arbres. Nous pouvons voir les branches car la plupart des feuilles sont tombées.

23rd December 2003

It has gone dark again. We can see more branches. There are rain drops on the camera lens.

There was very little change in January. We can see more of the branches and the leaves look greener. We can seethe cars clearly.

Il y’avait peu de changement en Janvier.

Where are the cars? Dawn could see the van was a Volkswagon.

Where are the cars and where is the tree? It has gone! We can see yellow cones on the road to warn of the danger.

14 months from when we started our fixed point, a sycamore tree has gone, a 1.4 metre pipe has been buried and a new wooden fence and entrance has been put in. We're standing behind the fence. We hope you enjoyed our photos.
