Why The Cuckmere Was good For smuggling

There are four reasons why Cuckmere was good for smuggling

  1. The hills hid them from the view of the revenue men.
  2. The Cuckmere had plenty of sheep farmers and therefore plenty of sheep for the French.
  3. The bay was sheltered from rough seas.
  4. It was a quiet unpopulated area.
